Brought out a lot of past experiences of my life but presented them as to put all the pieces into a whole.

I’ve witnessed Dave Lewis’ intuitively genuine concern for each student’s well-being. He advocates the benefits of Tai Chi as it relates to the whole person, encourages self-reflection, balances suggestions with recognition of growth, offers mediation practice and provides relevant health related resources.

I believe the relaxation and breathing exercises I have learned these past three months are helping not only with my blood pressure but also a new calmness and peacefulness that I had not felt before. It calms my mind and lets my body relax.

. . . has been a great practice to help me focus my thoughts and relax my mind. Thank you, again, for your mentorship and generosity.

You might be thinking:
- This is too hard for me
- This workshop is for all levels of participants with activities for a variety of levels of fitness.
- The class is too long
- This workshop is only six hours, and you will be working on your wellness throughout the workshop and the class will seem to fly by.
- I don’t have time for this
- We often don’t understand until it’s too late the things we should focus on. This workshop will help you focus on the things that can not only help you to live longer but better too!
- I don’t feel comfortable with the other people I don’t know in the class
- While interaction with others is encouraged, it is not required. You will be able to learn how to build your optimal life with having to share anything with anyone else in the class
- Everyone knows more about this than I do
- Everyone starts some place, and this workshop is a good way to start learning about wellness or add to what you already know.
- I already know this stuff
- This workshop is about Holistic Wellness, so while you may know information about one or two areas, there will be skills and information for everyone.
Hi. I’m Dave
I started learning yoga and Tai Chi in college as a relaxation exercises backstage. I continued to dabble and study those along with martial arts until I was in my 40’s. By that time, I had a full-time job, three kids, a side hustle, and was pursuing an advanced college degree. As you can imagine, my stress level went through the roof, and I had to find ways to relax and take care of myself.
I started to get more serious about self-improvement, diet, exercise, and how my lifestyle choices were affecting my health. I had been teaching personal development classes for years and so adding Tai Chi and martial arts was a natural extension of what I was doing anyway.
The ebb and flow of my life affected how much attention to my health until I was diagnosed as prediabetic. Since that low point, I have lost 50 pounds, gotten my blood sugar under control without taking any medication, lowered my cholesterol level, and have more energy than I have had for years.
Looking at my friends, acquaintances, and students, I saw many of them with the same issues with energy, weight, and stress. That’s when I realized that I need to share what I have learned with others to help them build their own optimal lives. This Introduction to Holistic Wellness workshop is the product of my work on myself and with others to build their optimal lives.
